To upgrade a tool to level 2, it's required a tool level 1 + 200 ZBC + 1200 ZBW + 400 ZBF + 2 Steel + 1 Emerald 

To upgrade a tool to level 3, it's required a tool level 2 + 400 ZBC + 2400 ZBW + 800 ZBF + 4 Steel + 2 Emeralds + 1 Rubi

To upgrade a tool to level 4, it's required a tool level 3 + 800 ZBC + 4800 ZBW + 1600 ZBF + 8 Steel + 4 Emeralds + 2 Rubis + 1 Sapphire

To upgrade a tool to level 5, it's required a tool level 4 + 1600 ZBC + 9600 ZBW + 3200 ZBF + 16 Steel + 8 Emeralds + 4 Rubis + 2 Sapphires + 1 Diamond
